Description

When an air or electrical supply to a rewind motor isn't available or when a hose reel needs to work reliably in mobile, field, or remote-mount installations, the Coxreels 1175-6-135-C delivers full manual control over 135 feet of 1-inch ID hose at up to 3,000 PSI, with no power source required. The front-mounted bevel geared crank (a mechanism using angled gears to redirect the cranking force into drum rotation, reducing the effort needed to wind back a fully loaded 1" hose drum by hand) gives smooth, controlled retraction with a removable handle that stays out of the way between uses. A long-handled locking pin locks the drum solid during storage, transport, or any time you need the hose secured at a fixed extension length. Built on the same all-welded 12-gauge steel A-frame, CNC-spun ribbed discs, and permanently lubricated pillow block bearings as the rest of the 1175 Series, the 1175-6-135-C handles the same industrial pressure demands as the motorized variants without the ongoing compressed air consumption or electrical wiring of a powered reel.

Type: Bevel Geared Crank Rewind Hose Reel | Series: 1175 | Crank Type: Front Bevel Geared, Removable Handle | Hose I.D. (in.): 1 | Hose O.D. (in.): 1-7/16 | Hose Length (ft.): 135 | Hose Included: No | Max PSI: 3,000 | Swivel Seals: AFLAS | Inlet Swivel: 1" F NPT 90° | Outlet Riser: 1" F NPT | Approx. Weight (lbs.): 70

Features

  • Front bevel geared crank with smooth round handle for controlled mechanical retraction no air supply or electrical connection required
  • Removable crank handle keeps the reel profile clean between uses and prevents accidental engagement during hose deployment
  • Long-handled locking pin locks and secures the drum from rotation during transport, storage, or fixed-extension use including mobile applications over rough terrain
  • AFLAS swivel seals on the nickel-plated steel 90° full-flow NPT swivel inlet for improved chemical and heat resistance over standard nitrile seals
  • Exclusive low-profile outlet riser and open drum slot design provides a non-crimping, flat smooth hose wrap around the drum
  • Heavy-duty CNC robotically spun and ribbed discs with rolled edges for greater strength, durability, hose protection, and operator safety
  • Sturdy one-piece, all CNC robotically welded 12-gauge steel A-frame base not bolted for superior reel structure; mounting pattern in base for easy installation and detachment
  • Permanently lubricated, self-aligning pillow block bearings for trouble-free, smooth drum rotation; adjustable tension brake prevents free-wheeling during hose deployment
  • Long-lasting chip-resistant, rust-inhibiting CPC powder coat finish

Applications

  • Mobile service vehicles & lube trucks securing hose at a fixed length over rough terrain and remote job sites where no air or electrical supply is available for a powered motor
  • Agricultural & rural facilities irrigation lines, equipment wash-down, and fluid transfer in barns, fields, and outbuildings where running power to a motor reel is impractical
  • Plant maintenance & industrial MRO fixed wall or ceiling installations where manual retraction is preferred and eliminating compressed air consumption at the reel is a priority
  • Construction & field service supplying air or fluid to tools and equipment at job sites where the reel mounts to a trailer, service body, or structure without nearby power
  • Fleet & heavy equipment service bays lower-cycle applications where operator-controlled, manual hose retraction is sufficient and the simpler mechanism means fewer service points over the life of the reel

FAQs

Q: What is a bevel geared crank, and why does it matter on a 135-foot reel?
A: A bevel gear uses angled teeth to transfer rotation from the crank handle to the drum at a different axis similar in concept to how a rear derailleur changes direction of force on a bicycle. On a fully loaded 135-foot, 1-inch hose drum, direct cranking without gearing requires significantly more effort. The bevel gear reduces the force required per turn, making full retraction manageable by a single operator without the fatigue of a straight-drive crank on a large drum.

Q: What is the difference between the "-C" and the "-A" or "-AB" variants?
A: The "-C" is entirely manual no air supply or electrical connection needed. Retraction is done by hand using the bevel geared crank. The "-A" (aluminum 4-vane air motor) and "-AB" (cast iron 6-vane air motor) retract automatically using compressed air from your shop supply. Choose the "-C" when power at the reel location is unavailable, undesirable, or when lower cycle frequency makes manual retraction practical.

Q: Does the reel come with hose, or is it sold separately?
A: The 1175-6-135-C ships less hose no hose is included. The reel accepts 1" ID / 1-7/16" OD hose up to 135 feet. Select hose rated for your working pressure and media (air, water, or other compatible fluids at up to 3,000 PSI) and install it on the drum.

Q: Can the crank handle be removed when the reel is in use?
A: Yes. The handle is designed to be removable, so it can be detached when the hose is deployed and the reel is in use. This keeps the crank from spinning freely or becoming a snag hazard during operation. Re-attach the handle when it's time to wind the hose back onto the drum.

Q: Is the locking pin strong enough to hold the drum on a moving vehicle?
A: Coxreels specifically notes that the long-handled locking pin is designed to secure the drum during mobile applications over rough terrain. The 1175 Series A-frame construction is suited to vehicle-mount installations. Verify your mounting structure and fastener sizing are appropriate for the combined weight of the reel and loaded hose before installation on a mobile platform.
