Description

Production environments that run air motors, hose reels, and retraction cycles all day need more than a light-duty rewind motor they need a motor built to take continuous cycles without wearing out. The Coxreels 1175-6-135-AB pairs the same 1175 Series large-chassis reel frame with a cast iron 6-vane compressed air motor (a heavier-duty motor construction than the aluminum 4-vane version, with more vanes for smoother torque delivery and a cast iron body that holds up under sustained cycling) to give high-volume maintenance, manufacturing, and fleet operations push-button retraction across a full 135 feet of 1-inch ID hose. At 3,000 PSI maximum working pressure, the reel handles the delivery demands of high-CFM production pneumatic tools, chippers, wrenches, grinders, and fluid transfer lines without pressure drop from reel to tool. Mounted on Coxreels' all-welded 12-gauge steel A-frame with CNC-spun ribbed discs and AFLAS swivel seals, the 1175-6-135-AB is built for plant floors, heavy service bays, and industrial facilities where a wall- or ceiling-mounted reel runs dozens of retraction cycles per shift.

Type: Compressed Air Motor Rewind Hose Reel | Series: 1175 | Motor Type: Cast Iron 6-Vane Compressed Air Motor | Hose I.D. (in.): 1 | Hose O.D. (in.): 1-7/16 | Hose Length (ft.): 135 | Hose Included: No | Max PSI: 3,000 | Swivel Seals: AFLAS | Inlet Swivel: 1" F NPT 90° | Outlet Riser: 1" F NPT | Approx. Weight (lbs.): 70

Features

  • Cast iron 6-vane compressed air motor with chain & sprocket drive heavier construction than aluminum-body motors, suited to high-cycle production use
  • AFLAS swivel seals on the nickel-plated steel 90° full-flow NPT swivel inlet for improved chemical and heat resistance over standard nitrile seals
  • Exclusive low-profile outlet riser and open drum slot design provides a non-crimping, flat smooth hose wrap around the drum
  • Heavy-duty CNC robotically spun and ribbed discs with rolled edges for greater strength, durability, hose protection, and operator safety
  • Sturdy one-piece, all CNC robotically welded 12-gauge steel A-frame base not bolted for superior reel structure and rigid wall or ceiling mount
  • Permanently lubricated, self-aligning pillow block bearings for trouble-free, smooth drum rotation over years of production use
  • Adjustable tension brake prevents free-wheeling during hose deployment, giving controlled pay-out at any extension length
  • Long-lasting chip-resistant, rust-inhibiting CPC powder coat finish

Applications

  • High-cycle plant & industrial maintenance supplying air to grinders, chippers, impact wrenches, and other high-CFM tools across large production floors where the reel retracts dozens of times per shift
  • Heavy truck & fleet service facilities running tire inflation, air-powered lift equipment, and undercarriage service tools at extended reach from a single overhead-mount station
  • Mining & heavy equipment service delivering sustained air supply for field maintenance of large machinery where hose runs exceed 100 feet and motor durability is a priority
  • Manufacturing & fabrication shops keep hoses retracted and off the floor between tool changes to reduce trip hazards and protect hose from forklift and foot traffic damage
  • Oil & gas and industrial facilities fixed overhead air supply stations where continuous-duty retraction cycles and chemical-resistant swivel seals are required

FAQs

Q: What is the difference between the "-AB" and the "-A" motor on the 1175 Series?
A: The "-A" suffix uses an aluminum 4-vane air motor lighter weight, well suited to moderate-duty retraction cycles. The "-AB" suffix uses a cast iron 6-vane air motor, which is heavier-constructed and delivers smoother torque across a broader duty cycle. For high-cycle production environments or facilities where the reel runs dozens of retractions per shift, the cast iron 6-vane motor is the more durable choice. Both use your existing compressed air supply for retraction power.

Q: Does the reel come with hose, or is it sold separately?
A: The 1175-6-135-AB ships less hose no hose is included. The reel accepts 1" ID / 1-7/16" OD hose up to 135 feet. Select hose rated for your working pressure and media (air, water, or other compatible fluids at up to 3,000 PSI) and install it on the drum.

Q: What do AFLAS swivel seals mean, and why does it matter?
A: AFLAS (a fluoroelastomer compound) offers better resistance to heat, steam, and a wider range of chemicals than standard nitrile rubber seals. For most air-only applications the difference is minor, but in environments with elevated temperatures, chemical exposure, or steam cleaning, AFLAS seals extend swivel service life and reduce maintenance intervals.

Q: Can this reel be mounted on a ceiling or overhead structure?
A: Yes. The 1175-6-135-AB is a fixed-installation reel designed for wall, ceiling, or overhead mounting. The mounting pattern is integral to the all-welded steel A-frame base bolt directly through the base into your structure. This is not a portable or floor-standing unit.

Q: What air supply does the motor need to retract the drum?
A: The cast iron 6-vane motor uses your existing shop air (typically 90 120 PSI) delivered through a separate small-diameter air line connection to the motor independent of the hose flow path through the reel drum. Coxreels does not publish a specific CFM draw figure for the retraction motor; confirm your compressed air system can supply both the motor and connected tools simultaneously before installation.
