Description

When a 1/2-inch hose reel needs to work without any power source no shop air, no electrical circuit, no hydraulic connection and manual retraction of 100 feet of hose needs to be manageable by a single operator, the Coxreels 1125-4-100-C delivers it. The front bevel geared crank (a mechanism using angled gears to redirect the operator's cranking force into drum rotation, reducing the effort required to wind 100 feet of 1/2-inch hose back onto the drum by hand) gives controlled, smooth retraction with a removable handle that stores out of the way when the hose is deployed. A long-handled locking pin locks the drum solid during storage, transport, or any fixed-extension use. Built on the same all-welded 12-gauge steel A-frame, CNC-spun ribbed discs, and machined solid brass 90° NPT swivel as the rest of the 1125 Series, the 1125-4-100-C handles 3,000 PSI working pressure for air, water, or oil service entirely under the operator's control, with no external power required. For installations where running an air line or electrical circuit to the reel isn't practical, or where the simplicity and reliability of a mechanical-only retraction system is preferred, this is the 1125 Series answer.

Features

  • Front bevel geared crank with smooth round handle for controlled mechanical retraction no air supply, electrical connection, or hydraulic circuit required
  • Removable crank handle keeps the reel profile clean when hose is deployed and prevents accidental drum engagement during operation
  • Long-handled locking pin locks and secures the drum from rotation during storage, transport, or fixed-extension use including mobile applications over rough terrain
  • Machined solid brass 90° full-flow NPT swivel inlet standard on 1/2" and 3/4" 1125 Series models; no need to remove the reel from its mount for seal maintenance or hose installation
  • Exclusive low-profile outlet riser and open drum slot design provides a non-crimping, flat smooth hose wrap around the drum
  • Heavy-duty CNC robotically spun and ribbed discs with rolled edges for greater strength, durability, hose protection, and operator safety
  • Sturdy one-piece, all CNC robotically welded 12-gauge steel A-frame base not bolted for superior reel structure; mounting pattern in base for wall, ceiling, vehicle-body, or floor installation
  • Permanently lubricated, self-aligning pillow block bearings for trouble-free, smooth drum rotation over extended service life
  • Adjustable tension brake prevents free-wheeling during hose deployment; long-lasting chip-resistant, rust-inhibiting CPC powder coat finish

Applications

  • Mobile service vehicles & field equipment trucks, trailers, and portable service units where no shop air or electrical supply is available at the reel mounting location and manual retraction at end of each use is practical
  • Agricultural & rural facilities barns, outbuildings, irrigation stations, and field equipment where running power or air to the reel is impractical and mechanical self-sufficiency is a priority
  • Plant maintenance & industrial MRO fixed wall or ceiling installations in shops and facilities where a lower-cycle application doesn't justify the cost of a motorized reel and manual retraction by the operator is sufficient
  • Construction & job site service portable reel stations on job trailers and equipment where the absence of external power makes a bevel geared crank the most reliable retraction method in variable field conditions
  • Fluid transfer & wash-down water, oil, or compatible fluid delivery at 3,000 PSI in shops and facilities where operator-controlled, hand-cranked retraction offers precise hose speed and tension management

FAQs

Q: Why is the bevel geared crank only available on the 1125 Series and not on 1-inch hose reels?
A: The bevel geared crank (-C suffix) is available on the 1125 Series for hose up to 3/4-inch ID. For 1-inch ID hose, the drum load is too heavy for practical hand-crank operation, so Coxreels uses the larger 1175 Series chassis with a bevel geared crank designed specifically for that heavier drum capacity. If you need a crank-rewind reel for 1-inch hose at 100 feet or longer, the 1175-6 series with the -C suffix is the appropriate product.

Q: What is the difference between the bevel geared crank ("-C") and a standard direct hand crank on the 1125 Series?
A: The standard direct hand crank (no suffix, or the base hand crank model) connects the crank handle directly to the drum axle one handle rotation equals one drum rotation with no mechanical advantage. The bevel geared crank uses angled gears to change the direction of rotation and provide a gear ratio that reduces the force required per turn, making it easier to wind a fully loaded 100-foot drum without the arm fatigue of a direct crank. For longer hose lengths and heavier loads, the bevel gear is the more practical choice.

Q: Does the reel come with hose included?
A: No the 1125-4-100-C ships less hose. The drum accepts 1/2" ID / 7/8" OD hose up to 100 feet. Select hose rated for your working pressure and media (air, water, oil, or other compatible fluids at up to 3,000 PSI) and install it on the drum before use.

Q: Can the crank handle be removed while the hose is under pressure?
A: The handle is designed to be removable for storage and deployment convenience, but it should not be removed while the reel is under pressure. Removing the handle while the hose carries pressurized fluid opens the flow path and can create a hazardous condition. Always depressurize the hose line before removing the crank handle.

Q: Can this reel handle fluids other than air?
A: Yes models supplied less hose can be used for air, water, or oil service at up to 3,000 PSI. The machined brass swivel and Nitrile seals are compatible with petroleum-based oils and water but have limited resistance to some synthetic hydraulic fluids and solvents. Confirm seal and swivel material compatibility with your specific fluid before installation.
