Description

Ingersoll Rand 8245-B8-1 is a Bant-A-Matic Series Self-Feed Air Drill designed for repetitive drilling and secondary machining applications where controlled pneumatic feed and retract movement are required. This model combines a 0.25 HP pneumatic motor with a 900 RPM free speed and double gear reduction. The 8245-B8-1 provides a 1-1/4 in. (32 mm) stroke and a 3/16 in. nominal drilling capacity in SAE 1213 steel.

The self-feed system uses compressed air for both spindle rotation and feed/control functions. A double-acting air piston provides controlled forward and retract strokes, while needle-valve controls allow adjustment of the feed and retract rates. A built-in four-way valve supports manual or remote operation, and the adjustment screw provides infinite stroke-length settings. Ball-bearing spindle support provides precision and long service life, while the muffled exhaust helps reduce operating noise. The drill uses a 1/4 in. (6.4 mm) standard chuck, a 1/8 in. NPT male air inlet, and a 1/4 in. recommended hose I.D.

Type: Self-Feed Air Drill | Series: Bant-A-Matic | Model: 8245-B8-1 | Motor Power: 0.25 HP (.20 kW) | Free Speed: 900 RPM | Gear Reduction: Double | Stroke Length: 1-1/4 in. (32 mm) | Nominal Steel Capacity: 3/16 in. (4.8 mm) | Standard Chuck Capacity: 1/4 in. (6.4 mm) | Air Inlet: 1/8 in. NPT Male | Recommended Hose I.D.: 1/4 in.

Features:

  • The self-feed configuration provides controlled forward and retract movement for repetitive drilling cycles.
  • The 0.25 HP pneumatic motor supplies spindle rotation for the drilling operation.
  • Double gear reduction provides the drive configuration specified for the 900 RPM model.
  • The double-acting air piston provides smooth, controlled forward and retract strokes.
  • The built-in four-way valve enables manual or remote operation.
  • Needle-valve controls allow adjustment of the forward and retract strokes.
  • The adjustment screw provides infinite stroke-length settings.
  • Ball-bearing spindle support provides precision and long service life.
  • The muffled exhaust helps provide a quieter work environment during pneumatic operation.
  • The tool requires only simple pneumatic circuitry for installation.

NON-RETURNABLE. MADE TO ORDER.

Applications:

  • Production drilling — performing repetitive holemaking operations with controlled pneumatic feed and retract movement.
  • Metal fabrication — drilling compatible steel components and assemblies within the manufacturer's specified capacity.
  • Secondary machining — automating repetitive drilling operations as part of a production process.
  • Fixture-mounted drilling — integrating the self-feed drill into dedicated fixtures where consistent stroke control is required.
  • Industrial machining systems — using the tool individually or in conjunction with other pneumatic or electric tools where its speed, capacity, and feed characteristics are appropriate.
