Description

Built for die grinding, deburring, and small-area material removal, the Dotco 10L2000-01 Inline Grinder combines 0.6 HP output with a 25,000 RPM free speed to keep carbide burrs and mounted wheels cutting efficiently on metal, castings, fixtures, and machined parts. The 1/4" collet accepts common 1/4" shank rotary accessories, while the compact inline body helps technicians guide the tool closely along edges, contours, and recessed surfaces.

Part of the Dotco 10-20 Series, this front-exhaust model uses a lock-off lever throttle to help reduce unintended start-up during handling. The aluminum housing keeps the tool body rigid and lightweight, and the catalog-rated abrasive capacity supports a 3/4" carbide burr or 1-1/2" mounted wheel. A carbide burr is a rotary cutting accessory used for shaping and deburring; a mounted wheel is a small abrasive wheel bonded to a shank for localized grinding and finishing.

Features:

  • 0.6 HP motor provides practical cutting power for die/mold work, edge cleanup, and controlled deburring operations.
  • 25,000 RPM free speed supports fast stock removal when paired with properly rated rotary accessories.
  • 1/4" 200 Series collet accepts common 1/4" shank carbide burrs, mounted wheels, and compatible finishing accessories.
  • Lock-off lever throttle helps prevent accidental start-up during tool handling, positioning, or accessory changes.
  • Front exhaust configuration vents air forward from the tool body and should be matched to the work area, part sensitivity, and chip-control needs.
  • Durable aluminum housing provides a compact, rigid body for routine production, repair, and finishing work.
  • Rated for 3/4" carbide burrs and 1-1/2" mounted wheels.
  • Standard equipment includes the applicable collet and collet wrenches.

Applications:

  • Die and mold shops — cleaning mold edges, removing flash, and refining small contours with carbide burrs.
  • Metal fabrication — deburring cut edges, blending small weld starts and stops, and cleaning drilled or machined openings.
  • Manufacturing maintenance — touching up brackets, fixtures, replacement guards, and modified machine components.
  • Automotive and fleet repair — removing burrs, gasket residue, and sharp edges on metal parts where a compact air grinder is easier to control than a larger wheel tool.
  • General shop finishing — using mounted wheels for localized grinding, smoothing, and part cleanup on compatible materials.

FAQs:

  • Q: What is the difference between the 10L2000-01 and rear-exhaust versions?
A: The 10L2000-01 is the front-exhaust model. Rear-exhaust versions route air toward the back of the tool and may be preferred when exhaust flow near the workpiece is a concern.
  • Q: What does the 1/4" collet size mean?
A: The collet is the clamping sleeve that holds the accessory shank. This grinder accepts compatible 1/4" shank accessories, including properly rated carbide burrs and mounted wheels.
  • Q: Can I use any 1/4" burr or mounted wheel on this grinder?
A: No. The accessory must fit the collet correctly and must have a maximum operating speed equal to or greater than 25,000 RPM. Do not exceed the manufacturer’s abrasive capacity ratings.
  • Q: Why is a lock-off lever throttle helpful?
A: A lock-off lever requires an intentional motion before the throttle can be activated. This helps reduce accidental start-up while the tool is being handled, moved, or positioned near the workpiece.
  • Q: What air setup should be used with this grinder?
A: Use clean, regulated compressed air at 90 PSI / 620 kPa with a 5/16" minimum hose I.D. and a 1/4" NPT air connection. A properly sized FRL helps maintain air quality and tool performance.
