United Abrasives Flap Discs & Flap Wheels

Coated Abrasives, such as Flap Discs and Flap Wheels, are essential tools in the realm of metalworking, woodworking, and surface preparation. These abrasives consist of abrasive grains bonded to a backing material, providing durability and efficiency in various applications. Flap discs are versatile and widely used for grinding, blending, and finishing tasks. They feature overlapping flaps of abrasive-coated fabric that wear away during use, revealing fresh abrasive material underneath. This design ensures a consistent finish and extended tool life. Flap Discs are commonly employed on angle grinders, making them a popular choice for both professional and DIY users. On the other hand, flap wheels share similarities with flap discs but are distinct in their cylindrical shape. These wheels consist of multiple layers of abrasive-coated flaps arranged radially around a central hub. Flap wheels are effective for applications requiring a controlled, precise finish, such as polishing and deburring. They are frequently used in bench grinders and other stationary tools.
