The Western Enterprises 312-7330-B Hose Ferrule attaches to the reinforcements and acts as a "weather seal" to keep the hose and coupling protected from the elements. Both are usually constructed of carbon or stainless steel and are plated or coated to improve chemical or corrosion resistance. They are specifically developed for rubber hydraulic and thermoplastic hoses, but they are also commonly used in industrial hoses.
