APT M131 Backfill Tamper is a heavy-duty pneumatic compaction tool designed for demanding subsurface and asphalt-compaction tasks. With a 1-½″ bore and a 5-½″ stroke, it delivers approximately 670 blows per minute, providing consistent, deep-penetrating impact energy for backfilling pits, packing asphalt, setting poles and foundations, or repairing pavements. Built for job-site durability, the M131 features a 6″ butt (internally-reinforced malleable-iron standard) plus optional 3″ solid or half-moon pole butt configurations, enabling versatility in confined spaces or around utility posts. Equipped with an automatic built-in oiler and a flapper-valve design that allows dirt and debris to pass through without stopping the tool, this tamper is optimized for rugged ground conditions and continuous use.
