International Air Tool Co. offers a variety of PAPR (powered air-purifying respirator) and supplied-air (SAR) hoods and helmets designed to protect the worker's head and face while directing clean, breathable air to the worker. Loose-fitting PAPR hoods do not require fit testing because they do not need to seal to the face and are regularly worn by individuals with facial hair. PAPR helmets have a strong shell that helps distribute headpiece weight for enhanced comfort. Furthermore, they have a lower profile and better heat tolerances than hoods. Some helmets also have mechanisms that allow the insertion of welding glasses.
