Direct Drive Screwdrivers

Direct drive screwdrivers do not have a torque limiting clutch. The air motor is directly connected to the drive bit making them useful for applications where precise torque control is not required. Direct drive tools can be found in free running, hard slam applications where resistance is low at the start and during rundown, but peaks suddenly as the head of the screw sets. Direct drive tools also work very well with wood screws where resistance build gradually until the fastener seats.
